Whilst on a visit to the town of Paraty in Brazil, we came across a place called Thai Paraty, a moderately sized restaurant located on Alameda Princesa Isabel. Continue reading Thai food in Brazil at Thai Paraty
For my first visit to New York I had arranged to stay in Brooklyn – and was so pleased that I did. Not only was it a lively, culturally diverse part of the city, but it also had some fantastic restaurants to satisfy the foodie in me at non-Times-Square prices.
During the visit, I found three fantastic restaurants that I needed to share. Each one offered fresh, quality food, great flavour and a range of appetising drinks, along with friendly service and welcoming atmospheres. They all seemed to be consistently busy, always a positive sign in my opinion.
In December 2009, I visited Paris with my boyfriend for a new years’ break. Whilst we were away, we decided to indulge our craving for Thai food and try Thai Pacific, a fabulous little restaurant that served incredible, tasty food at very affordable prices. The memory of the delightful menu stayed with us so strongly, that three years later in September 2012, we followed the direction of our noses and hoped that we would be able to remember where the restaurant was located. Not to be disappointed, we were fortunate to find the restaurant as perfectly tucked away as we had recalled.
During a recent stay in Koh Samui we had the pleasure of visiting Spirit House by Chaweng Beach. Set in beautiful surroundings, this restaurant, spa and cookery school creates the perfectly idyllic experience of Thailand. We were recommended to try the restaurant by a local as we were searching for a romantic dinner setting and a memorable experience for our holiday. We were so impressed with the venue that not only did we dine there, we also booked into the spa a couple of days later and followed this up by taking part in the 1-2-1 cookery school.
On each occasion the staff were welcoming, friendly and so keen to ensure that we had a good experience which is indicative of the Thai attitude. So, I thought that I would use this post to summarise my love for all three aspects of Spirit House that we were able to enjoy. Continue reading Spirit House, Koh Samui, Thailand
I have been eating at Chaophraya for over three years now, a regular fan of their high quality food, decent portion sizes and reasonable prices to match – you definitely get your monies worth. As a fan of Thai food (it happens to be in my all-time top favourites) I do eat out frequently at a range of Thai restaurants yet I always come back to Chaophraya as a treat.
As my boyfriend and I tended to frequent the Manchester and Liverpool branches prior to our relocation, it felt only right that on a weekend visit ‘up north’ we should head back 🙂 Continue reading A Thai lunch at Chaophraya, Liverpool One, Liverpool
