A money-saving treat at Dim Sum House, Golders Green, London

imageSo, we are back in London and craving a little bit of cultured cuisine to recapture those holiday moments. Where better than to try a meal at our local restaurant ‘Dim Sum House’. Good service, friendly staff and a promotional offer that gives 50% off for only during their happy hour between 5.30-7.30pm as long as you pay in cash only. The food is high quality and flavoursome, freshly prepared. The restaurant itself is decorated to a high standard with deep colours and subtle lighting. Romantic and beautiful at the same time. I thought that I would say the rest with pictures rather than hearing it all from me.

Spirit House, Koh Samui, Thailand

Fresh coconut water – delicious!

During a recent stay in Koh Samui we had the pleasure of visiting Spirit House by Chaweng Beach. Set in beautiful surroundings, this restaurant, spa and cookery school creates the perfectly idyllic experience of Thailand. We were recommended to try the restaurant by a local as we were searching for a romantic dinner setting and a memorable experience for our holiday. We were so impressed with the venue that not only did we dine there, we also booked into the spa a couple of days later and followed this up by taking part in the 1-2-1 cookery school.

On each occasion the staff were welcoming, friendly and so keen to ensure that we had a good experience which is indicative of the Thai attitude. So, I thought that I would use this post to summarise my love for all three aspects of Spirit House that we were able to enjoy. Continue reading Spirit House, Koh Samui, Thailand

Review of Mantra Samui Resort, Thailand

As part of our trip to Thailand, we went to Koh Samui for eight days to ensure that we were able to get a relaxing break with beach, sunshine and lots of relaxation. Whilst the island itself offered a lot of this, our resort, the relatively new Mantra Samui was a fantastic contribution. Continue reading Review of Mantra Samui Resort, Thailand

A Thai lunch at Chaophraya, Liverpool One, Liverpool

I have been eating at Chaophraya for over three years now, a regular fan of their high quality food, decent portion sizes and reasonable prices to match – you definitely get your monies worth. As a fan of Thai food (it happens to be in my all-time top favourites) I do eat out frequently at a range of Thai restaurants yet I always come back to Chaophraya as a treat.

As my boyfriend and I tended to frequent the Manchester and Liverpool branches prior to our relocation, it felt only right that on a weekend visit ‘up north’ we should head back 🙂  Continue reading A Thai lunch at Chaophraya, Liverpool One, Liverpool

The Banana Tree, West Hampstead, London

If you are anything like my boyfriend and I then you will be sure to love a fantastic little restaurant that we found in West Hampstead called The Banana Tree. Serving a tasty range of Indochinese (pan-asian) food, their motto is to “spread the love of great food” which after a spontaneous yet fantastic meal there I was more than happy to do!

We decided to drop in on a busy Friday evening with the desire to try somewhere new for our weekly ‘date night’. Continue reading The Banana Tree, West Hampstead, London

Stanhope Hotel, Brussels, Belgium

During a recent trip to Brussels, I decided to stay at the Stanhope Hotel to enjoy a little bit of luxury during our relaxing two-night stay. Having made the reservation via Hotels.com we were looking forward to making the most of our visit to the city, whilst being based close to the centre enabling maximum time to be spent exploring rather than travelling around the city. On this occasion, location was everything. Continue reading Stanhope Hotel, Brussels, Belgium
