This evening I was invited to a screening of ‘Last Vegas’, a film starring Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Morgan Freeman and Kevin Kline in a riotous sixty-something comedy bachelor party in Las Vegas.

I was recently invited to visit the Intercontinental Geneva in Switzerland, a true luxury hotel that wholeheartedly merits its five-star rating providing excellent value for money and exemplary customer service.
With the United Nations based a mere 10 minutes away, the hotel regularly receives VIP guests. During our visit, the conference regarding Syrian chemical weapons was underway, therefore security was high however this didn’t interfere with our stay at all. On a rainy Saturday afternoon in London, I was invited to try the cream tea at the Beaufort Hotel.
The privately owed boutique hotel offers a home away from home for all guests of the residence in Knightsbridge. The hotel is well located in a tree lined cul-de-sac just a stones throw from premium retailers including Harrods.
As part of the #byExpedia Berlin Bloggers competition, I had to choose a hotel to accommodate my boyfriend and I for the duration of our stay. Having perused a selection of hotels on the Expedia website, I settled on the Eurostars Hotel, a five-star complex located on Friedrichstrasse; the heart of Berlin and a perfect base from which to explore the city.
Upon arrival at the hotel, we received a warm welcome by the Receptionist who confirmed that our room was ready and all facilities were available except for the hotel pool. Unfortunately it was having its annual service but an alternative pool was available in a nearby hotel. To be honest we didn’t miss it as Berlin is jam-packed with activities to keep you occupied. On my latest visit to Belgium, I arranged for my friend and I to stay at the Bedford Hotel & Congress Centre, just a short walk from Grand Place and the many sights to be seen around the local area. We were only staying for one night, so easy access to attractions from a central location was the priority.
First impressions of the hotel were good; we took the metro to the hotel which was a short trip and just a few minutes walk from there to the Bedford Hotel. Despite having limited access to the map on my phone (thanks to T-Mobile deactivating the roaming function), we found the hotel with ease running parallel to the main road, Boulevard Anspach.
As we had arrived earlier than scheduled, we arranged to store our bags whilst we started our sightseeing, returning later to check out our accommodation. Continue reading A short stay at the Bedford Hotel, Brussels, Belgium
On a trip to Paris in mid-2012, we had stayed at the Hotel Ariane Montparnasse, a mid-range hotel that we enjoyed. On this occasion for new year, we wanted something a little more comfortable.
We were staying for a slightly longer duration of five days over the new year, so sought accommodation with a pool and gym, yet still in a good location near to the metro. Oh, and we didn’t want to break the bank, particularly difficult with it being the holiday season…. in Paris. Luckily, the Oceania Paris Porte de Versailles made this very easy. Following a trip to Thailand visiting Bangkok, Koh Samui and then back to Bangkok, we chose to stay at the Baiyoke Sky Hotel in Central Bangkok. We had previously stayed at the Glow Trinity Hotel so decided to try elsewhere for comparison. Plus, the attraction of staying in Thailand’s tallest building had some appeal! Upon arrival at the hotel, we were immediately greeted with a busy reception area and a confusing concierge arrangement. This unfortunately contributed to what became a hectic and chaotic stay.
As a treat for a weekend away, my boyfriend and I took a two night, three day break to Budapest staying at the Leonardo Hotel (formerly part of the Ramada group).
I had made the reservation for the hotel via Hotels.com at a fantastic price on a room only basis. Upon arrival on a Saturday afternoon, we were pleased to receive a warm welcome from the staff before being handed our room card for the suite on the 6th floor. Pleasantly the room was available slightly earlier than the usual check-in time of 3pm which was much appreciated after our trip to the country. We were offered room number 617 which was an upgrade from the standard double room that we had originally booked. Continue reading Leonardo Hotel, Budapest, Hungary
