Exploring the outdoors with Slow Ways

Like many of us, I used the UK lockdown and working from home as an opportunity to focus on my mental and physical wellbeing. For me, this involved getting out for regular walks in my local area and venturing further afield whenever possible.

I often found myself struggling to find new routes close to home and to remain inspired with my goal to be active. The Slow Ways website offered some alternative options that I was able to try.

The best way to explore a new city?

Whenever I travel (be it for business or pleasure) I may sometimes have just a few hours or a couple of days to maximise my time in the city. Despite the best intentions by planning in advance, sometimes things just don’t go to plan.

As I have two city breaks fast approaching, I wanted to exchange ideas on the best way to explore a city – on foot, by bike, talking part in an organised walking tour or using the hop on/off buses?
