Paulos Circus recently rolled into town and I was pleased to be invited along for a chance to enjoy the show. I brought along my niece (age 9) and nephew (age 3) to enjoy the entertainment.
I hadn’t been to a circus in at least ten years, and it was a first for my younger relatives. Located at Melbricks Garden Centre in Coleshill, Birmingham, it was easy to find and conveniently, parking is available free of charge.
I’ve always been a fan of acrobatics, admiring the strength and technical ability that it involves, so I couldn’t wait to enjoy the show.
The show combines everything from acrobatics to miming and knife throwing to tightrope walking. There’s plenty of humour throughout.
The circus moves at quite a pace, with engaging acts. At no point did either child get bored, both remained excited at the prospect of what’s coming up next. There’s also some audience participation, so prepare yourself to be called upon as part of the show.
The show lasted for around 1 hour and 15 minutes; I found this to be just the right amount of time. There’s no interval but this was just enough time for neither child to be too fidgety.
The #CreatingMemoriesTour2018 was a fantastic way to enjoy an afternoon as a family. The circus felt safe and welcoming for families and the acts were enjoyable for a range of age groups. My nephew (age 3) was a little upset by the laser show, but really enjoyed the other acts, especially Mr N who acted as a compere for the event, as well as performed some mime acts and dancing.
