“Toast To The Nape” at KAMPAi, Jamaica

Taking its namesake from the Japanese word ‘Kanpai’ meaning to toast or celebrate an occasion, I couldn’t wait to party at KAMPAi with BayCrest Nation at Dunns River Falls in Jamaica. Following the pre-party on Good Friday, it had a lot to live up to. All inclusive drinks and food were a fantastic starting point, but I wanted to really see whether the event had all the makings for a fantastic Easter on the Caribbean island.

A few of the key sponsors on the evening were Haagen Daz, Appleton Rum, Absolut Vodka and Isle Chix amongst others – some of the very best suppliers serving Jamaica. With delicious food and creative drinks in full flow, it was clear that the event had been well planned to ensure that everybody had fun on the night. Drinks and food were plentiful and staff at every stall were friendly, approachable and enjoying the party.

Music was provided by headliner DJ Kurt Riley ‘The Party Animal’, Kamal Bankay (pictured) and DJ Smoke with a blend of soca, dancehall, reggae and hip hop music.

Drinks were in full flow all evening with an endless array of cocktails being whipped up by the talented Wynton Hudson (pictured below).

Canapés provided by Spicy Occasions were the perfect accompaniment to the range of cocktails being served up. From alcohol-based desserts to flambéed snacks, it was all top quality in the ultimate luxury experience.

Hot food on the evening was supplied by Pier 1 serving up a range of soups, noodle dishes and other Jamaican inspired foods. Add that to the incredible coffee being served by Cafe Blue (which happens to be 100% Blue Mountain coffee in every cup) and you have an explosive collection of treats for a winning evening.

I had a great time enjoying the party at Dunns River Falls for Easter. With the central Ocho Rios location, it was easy to access from the main road (I drove from Portland) as well as being a fantastic place to enjoy the warm night-time climate of Jamaica.
