#KAMPAi pre-party at Mystic Mountain, Jamaica

To celebrate my first Easter in Jamaica, I wanted to experience something fun, exciting and new. A bit of research led me to #KAMPAi, a limited entry event to be held at the one and only Dunns River Falls. But first there would be the pre-party which I was kindly invited to by Adrien of Doctor Bird Expat Services, a division of Lemaire & Associates and Jamaica Luxury Travel.

The set up is like this: Buy a ticket for JA $6000 (2013 price equivalent to £40) and the first 300 ticket holders gain access to the pre-party at Mystic Mountain on Good Friday. Just two days later the main event is held at Dunns River Falls which is then open to all ticket holders. The best part – you get unlimited drinks included at both events, with food available for purchase at a small fee. Sponsors at the pre-party include Jamaica’s own Appleton Rum and Absolut Vodka – so you’re definitely not short-changed on the calibre of drinks in this luxury setting.

The pre-party exceeded my expectations. Drinks were fully stocked and there was no scrimping on measures, giving all guests the perfect opportunity to sample premium quality drinks and great tasting food that in this case was prepared by the team at Mystic Mountain.

A couple of my favourite drinks of the evening were Appleton’s Chivas Rum and Absolut mango flavoured vodka. I tried Chivas Regal with ginger ale shortly followed by the Absolut mango vodka with pineapple juice, both expertly prepared by the respective bartender’s resolving my quest for the perfect tropical drink. Drinks were also in supply by the event organisers BayCrest Nation, offering an unusual yet smooth combination of champagne, with a drop of red wine and berries.

The music on the night was played by DJ Vice and Kamal Bankay with a mix of vibrant house and soca music setting the tone for the evening of dancing and enjoyment.

The pre-party was a professionally organised event creating the right environment for an enjoyable time in a secure setting – I can’t wait for the main event on Easter Sunday!

Many thanks to Doctor Bird Expat Services for providing entry to the pre-party of KAMPAi, Jamaica.
